BakeLab Urbana is renowned not only for its exceptional quality in pastries and drinks but also as a hub where creativity flourishes and community building thrives. In late 2023, Lodgic Coworking proposed a partnership to bring new vibes and new opportunities to Champaign. We gladly accept the challenge.
Throughout 2024, in preparation for our exciting new space, our team embarked on a flavorful adventure across Paris, Lisbon, Barcelona, and Kuala Lumpur. We had the incredible opportunity to study from world-famous pastry chefs, crafting new and delightful menu items. We also learned from the start up scenes in Nashville, Atlanta, Austin, and Chicago, gaining invaluable insights into creating a vibrant, nurturing environment for a co-working space.
BakeLab Lodgic is designed to be the ultimate hangout for entrepreneurs and creators within our community. Our goal is to collaborate with you, offering the perfect space where your innovative ideas can truly come to life. We are also thrilled to announce that - come December - we will be introducing a lineup of high-end desserts and cakes to our menu. Some of the offerings are meticulously crafted to be gluten-free, vegan, and low in sugar content. We assure you that you have yet to experience anything quite like this in our town. Our team is eagerly looking forward to sharing these exceptional treats with all of you.

About Us
Stacy Shi
Executive Pastry Chef
Stacy’s passion for pursuing the art of pastries is fierce. At an early age, she fell deeply in love with pastries and desserts making with its beautiful form and artistic expression . During her professional schooling at Culinary Institute of America, New York (CIA), she worked in various world renowned restaurants as an apprentice and refined her classic french pastry techniques. After graduating from CIA majoring in Baking & Pastry, She began working for the executive pastry chef team at the 2 star MICHELIN French fine dining restaurant Daniel and its sister bakery cafe Épicerie Boulud.
2020, New York was shut down due to the pandemic, and the whole world was put on a pause. But her world didn’t stop. After visiting her family in Chambana, she saw an opportunity to bring the high-level and inspiring pastry experience to the Heartland and to the highly international population. Later, she met the BrewLab team and was impressed by its dedication to coffee quality and community building. She decided to collaborate together. The idea of BakeLab was born, where she can be highly creative and be free to experiment with different flavors, ingredients and cooking methods and share the love of pastries with the community. Since its inception in 2021, BakeLab has served as a gathering place in the heart of Urbana for residents and visitors alike.
Counter Culture Coffee is a specialty coffee roaster sourcing exceptional single-origin and specialty coffee.
We frequently rotate coffee beans for our drip brew and retail bags through out the seasons. Make sure to ask the barista about the beans and the free grinding service when you purchase the retail bag.
